Ben Unwin, who played Jesse McGregor on Home and Away, has died aged 41.

Ben Unwin, who played Jesse McGregor on long-running Aussie soap Home and Away for several years, has died at the age of 41.

The Australian actor, who played Summer Bay’s “bad boy” Jesse McGregor from 1996–2000 and 2002–2005, died last week.

A NSW police statement released to Yahoo Lifestyle said police responded to a welfare call on August 14 when they found the 41-year-old’s body.

The death has not been treated as suspicious.

“Police attended Minyon Falls, Whian Whian, responding to a concern for welfare,” the statement read.

“The body of a 41-year-old man was located. The death has not been treated as suspicious.”

Ben’s performance on Home and Away scored him a Logie nomination in 1997 for the Most Popular New Talent category.

That same year he was also nominated for a British National Television award, again for his outstanding performance as a newcomer to the industry.

After leaving the set of Summer Bay in 2005, Ben reportedly had a career change, quitting showbiz to study law and work as a solicitor in Sydney.

More to come.
