When the robin’s egg blue box arrived in the Mamamia editorial office I knew it was hot property.
The box with the gorgeous packaging was addressed to me but it was snatched up and circulated through seven pairs of hands before hitting my desk again. I wasn’t even mad, it was fascinating to watch every one of the girls become enthralled by the contents.
The box in question wasn’t Tiffany’s, nor was it a dozen cupcakes (they definitely wouldn’t have lasted round the table); it was a package from Australia’s number 1 beauty subscription service, bellabox.
Just as an FYI, this is an advertorial for bellabox.
Each time the box was passed on, oohs and ahhs were emitted as each member of the editorial team delved into the box and suggestively requested what they’d like to have if I, of course, didn’t want it first.
What fascinated me most about the impromptu game of beauty pass-the-parcel is that I know not everyone in the team is big on beauty, yet everyone was enjoying the beauty editor perks and wanted a piece of the bellabox pie.
If you haven’t heard of bellabox before (stop everything and head over to their website now) it’s a new way for women to sample and shop for beauty products, and it’s basically the stuff beauty dreams are made of.
The folks on beauty duty over at bellabox really know their stuff; they package up the best selection of essential, cult and luxe brands and ship them to members all over the world to unwrap and trial at home.
The boxes are customised based on the season, so you won’t get heavy night creams in the middle of summer, current market trends and your own beauty profile -you fill it out upon signing up.
In my role covering beauty on Mamamia, I get loads of beauty products sent in to try out and conversely there are many brands I hear about and want to try but often don’t get the time to track them down.

Cooool. This is timely for me, because this week I realised the only reason I like going to the Perth Royal Show is the magazines-and-beauty-sample showbags, and I don't really like the actual show. So I decided to go to the shops, buy some indulgent products, and create my own mini showbag instead. Now I might skip that and sign up for this :)
Just signed up. And as someone who religiously trots off to the Body Shop for the same old products once they run out, as I have no time to even think about investigating something new - this sounds brilliant!! I bet they are getting so much traffic on their site today...
