Yes, Bachelor in Paradise stars can have sex. But they have strict bonking rules.

Bachelor in Paradise premieres on Sunday. And while its predecessors were focused on the love, this entry into the franchise is – let’s be real – more about the hooking up.

So we wondered, does the anti-sex attitude of the traditional Australian Bachelor and Bachelorette versions translate into Bachelor in Paradise?

Apparently not.

While chatting to Hit105’s Stav, Abby and Matt, Bachelor in Paradise‘s Laurina Fleure  said the producers were well prepared for contestants to get intimate.

Our favourite Bachies are back. So let’s take a look at some of the best goodbyes in the video below.

“There were condoms in every room,” she told the radio hosts when asked about sex on the show.

However, that doesn’t mean the producers were relaxed about the show’s stars getting it on.  The 34-year-old said that the accusations of sexual misconduct levelled against the makers of the US version of the show had the producers introducing some rather mood-killing measures.

Last year US contestant Corinne Olympios hired a lawyer, alleging that producers of the show had failed in their duty of care by not stopping a sexual encounter in a pool with fellow contestant DeMario Jackson when she said she was too drunk to consent. All charges were later dropped.

“Because of that drama that actually happened on the American series, there were some really strict guidelines around anybody getting intimate,” Laurina said.

“They had to go and flag it with production and say, ‘Hey, I’m consenting, I’m consenting’.

“And if anybody was caught frolicking intimately then production had the right to burst in the door and say, ‘Are you consenting? Are you consenting?'”

That’s got to have put a few people off hooking up.

At least everyone knew they were good to go STI-wise. Laurina confirmed the contestants all took STI tests.

“That’s pretty standard,” she said.

“Every reality show that I’ve done you’ve got to do full bloods and urines and all that.”

Bachelor in Paradise premieres at 7.30pm on Sunday on Channel Ten.
