Emergency services have been called to attend to a shocking series of attacks at a Melbourne train station, after reports several women were pushed onto the train tracks by a man brandishing a knife.
The incident, which occurred at Glenhuntley station on Sunday morning, also allegedly involved an elderly woman receiving a punch to the head.
The man, described by Channel 7 as “calm,” reportedly stabbed a woman’s handbag at about 11am this morning. It is thought his knife then broke, and he started to push women onto the tracks.
The victims have been taken to hospital with non life-threatening head and leg injuries.
A 45-year-old man has been arrested and will be questioned by police.
More to come.

This station is a unliked station not to say the least. As a local I know the community was in uproar that this station was not included in the 'level crossing removals' as its one station out from Ormond, McKinnon and Bentleigh on the Frankston line. While you might be thinking what does this have to do with anything, - as a Ormond resident... I can say with the station upgrade... you notice the amount of money spent on CCTV upgrade not only at the station but above at road level. If Glenhuntly station had gotten the upgrade too... it may have deterred the man who attacked these people. Glenhuntly station is so outdated.
Glad he is getting charged with attempted murder.
