And maybe said too much?
It was a glorious victory for Andy Murray at the Australian Open last night. But it seemed that after the match, the only balls the Scottish tennis star was talking about were not the ones on the court.
The 27-year-old, who was interviewed fresh off-the-court, admitted that he had two outfits lined up for his upcoming wedding to fiancee Kim Sears: a tux and a kilt.
He also admitted that, should he choose to go the traditional way of kilt-wearing, he would be doing so in fine traditional fashion. In other words, sans-underpants.
"I think I'm going to have both options and see what I feel like in the morning when I wake up," he told the Melbourne audience.
Maybe Andy should've stopped there. But instead he went on to add that if he did go down the more traditional route it would be a "proper kilt, yeah, freeballing."
"I've got a match to play in a couple of days, can I go now..?" he added, realising that things were taking a turn for the awkward.
Fiancee Kim, who was captured sporting her rock of an engagement ring, simply shook her head at the tennis star's revelation.
While Andy and Kim continue to keep quiet about their pending nupitals, it seems Andy's mum isn't keeping mum.
Speaking to The Mirror, Andy's mum Judy revealed that, "It's going to be next year, maybe October time. I think he just wants to start being engaged before he starts doing all that."
"I think it's for them to choose exactly what they want to do for their wedding. It's completely up to them. I don't know if the wedding will be in Scotland," she added.
The former Wimbeldon winner proposed to his girlfriend of nine years in November last year.
