Another death is coming on And Just Like That. This one is going to cut like a knife.

Sex and the City fans, get ready! And Just Like That is currently filming, which means that a steady flood of spoilers are coming via the photos captured of the cast filming on the streets of Manhattan.

But there's something going down on the set that has sent fans into a downward spiral

The cast were photographed gathering for an event while wearing black, leading people to assume they were congregating for a funeral.

But wait, who died??

Well, there's one beloved character who did not attend the funeral which has led some to spiral that they might have died: where is Steve??

David Eisenberg's character is nowhere to be seen, despite previously being an integral part of the friend group.

Another noteworthy detail is that alongside season faves Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie Bradshaw), Cynthia Nixon (Miranda Hobbes) and Kristin Davis (Charlotte York), none other than John Corbett has been spotted, seemingly confirming that Aidan Shaw and Carrie get back together despite ending their relationship (again!) in season two.

This is troubling because there's one person who might have brought Carrie and Aidan back together and that's Steve. Carrie formed a friendship with Steve throughout his on/off romance and marriage with Miranda while Aidan and Steve became besties on the original series and even opened a bar together.

Did they come back together for Steve's funeral? And why is Carrie so happy about it??

If Steve does die in And Just Like That this will be the second 'great love' who has been killed off on the show, following Big's death in the first episode of season one.

Steve has had a rough run lately with Miranda asking for a divorce after cheating on him with Che Diaz. This man has suffered enough! Let him (quite literally) live!

Thankfully, this is just one theory.

Firstly, it isn't outside the realm of possibility that Steve simply wasn't invited to this mysterious funeral. Since divorcing Miranda, Steve was largely absent from most group events in season two.

The actor, Eisenberg, curiously hasn't been photographed in any outdoor scenes from season three which could suggest Steve won't be a major part of the upcoming storylines.

Alternatively, the funeral could be for a different character entirely. A leading contender is Stanford, whose real-life counterpart Willie Garson passed away in September 2021. After appearing in a handful of season one episodes, the character mysteriously disappeared to Japan.

In season two, Carrie received a letter from Stanford which revealed he had quit his job, gone to live in a Japanese temple and become a Shinto monk.

If the series wanted to end his chapter for good, Stanford could die in the new season and the funeral would act as a memorial for both the character and actor, which has been done before on several TV shows.

Then there's the side characters whose funerals are more likely to be played off for comedy, which Sex and the City is known for doing in the past. Bitsy von Muffling was softly reintegrated into the series in season two of And Just Like That, and could be someone that the series could kill off without too much uproar (sorry Bitsy).

The actor who plays the quirky character, Julie Halston, was previously spotted filming outside a cancer centre which could be some foreshadowing.

But again, this is all just wild speculation! The funeral scene might not even make it into the season, it could be a clever ruse by the showrunners!

When it comes to And Just Like That, you can't believe everything you read online, as exemplified by recent rumours that Kim Cattrall was returning as Samantha for season three. In response to a post on X, Cattrall poured cold water over the excitement real quick by writing "That’s so kind, but I'm not."

With this in mind, it's best to take any And Just Like That theories with a grain of salt.

And Just Like That is expected to return in 2025.
