And Just Like That returns tomorrow. Here's where we left off.

Thursday nights just got a lot more exciting as And Just Like That prepares to release its second season.

The Sex and the City spin-off is back with Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie), Cynthia Nixon (Miranda) and Kristin Davis (Charlotte) returning as our favourite Manhattan girlies, along with new friends Seema, Nya, Lisa and (sadly) Sara Ramirez as the divisive Che Diaz.

Based on the trailer, the new season will see Carrie moving on from Big's death by reconnecting with Aidan, Miranda struggling with her relationship with Che, and Charlotte getting drunk off too many shots.

There's something for everyone!

But before we dive into a whole new season, some viewers might be wondering: where did we leave off? After all, season one first aired way back in December 2021 which is basically a lifetime ago.

Let's go through where we left our favourite gals at the end of season one of And Just Like That...

Where was Carrie?

Carrie spent most of season one processing the sudden death of her husband, John (aka Big). After spending a few episodes grieving (and stalking his ex-wife Natasha), she ends up dating again. She goes on a few dates with a man named Peter but they lack a spark.

By the end of season, Carrie is spotted passionately kissing her podcast producer, Franklyn, which seems more promising.

Speaking of her podcast, Che quits their podcast X, Y, and Me so Carrie goes her own way by doing a solo podcast offering relationship and sex advice which is a cute callback to her original Sex and the City column.

Carrie also sells the apartment she shared with Big and finds a new close friend in her realtor, Seema.

The season closes with Carrie dressed in a fabulous ball gown scattering Big’s ashes into the Seine River in Paris.

The decision to scatter his ashes came after Carrie had a dream where her ex-husband visited her to offer a sign that he wanted his ashes left where their love story took flight at the end of season six.

Where was Miranda?

Miranda had an awakening in season one of And Just Like That, falling out of love with Steve and in love with stand-up comedian, Che Diaz. Carrie caught Miranda and Che fooling around in her kitchen and later Miranda asked Steve for a divorce.

At the same time, Miranda has returned to school to get her Master's degree in Human Rights. The season wraps up with Miranda passing up the chance at a prestigious internship to follow Che to LA to film a pilot.

But more importantly, Miranda has dyed her hair red again! Hooray!

Where was Charlotte?

By comparison, not much happened with Charlotte in season one. After finding out that Charlotte's child Rock is non-binary, she and Harry throw them a 'they-mitzvah', but Rock ultimately refuses to participate as they don't identify as Jewish anymore.

Other than that, Charlotte teaches her daughter Lily about periods and tampons. And just like on Sex and the City, Harry and Charlotte are still the only couple worth rooting for in this series.

And... where was Samantha?

Samantha is living in London. Carrie and Miranda reveal that she no longer responds to any of her former friends' messages or calls. Carrie mentions that she had previously fired Samantha as her publicist, which she claimed played a part in the demise of their friendship. "I thought I was more to her than an ATM," she said in episode one.

At Big's funeral, Samantha sent flowers with a card that simply read: "Love, Samantha." Carrie sent her old friend a text to thank her for the gesture, however, Samantha didn't reply.

Holla! Listen to this episode of The Spill. Post continues after podcast.

After Carrie started dating again, she reached out to Samantha once more. "I kissed a man," Carrie wrote to her old mate.

"The first of many. How was it?" Samantha replied immediately. Carrie wrote back "It wasn't Big," and the Londoner quipped back, "So, it was small."

The exchange ended with Carrie asking "Want to talk?" and Samantha sent back "Soon."

The season concluded with Carrie in Paris and she finally got Samantha to agree to meet. "I'm in Paris. Want to meet for a cocktail?" Carrie texted.

"How's tomorrow night?" Samantha replied. Carrie sent back "FABULOUS."

Given this cliffhanger ending, should we be all that surprised that Kim Cattrall has been locked in for a cameo this season? Bring it on!

And Just Like That premieres on June 22 on Binge for a special double episode.
