Where are they now? The cast of Teen Mom OG, 10 years after the show first aired.

In 2009, as the world became infatuated with 16 and Pregnant, MTV gifted reality television addicts with Teen Mom.

The 16 and Pregnant spin-off explored the complicated lives of teenage mothers as they navigated love, motherhood, and family, and originally ran from 2009 to 2012, before being rebooted as Teen Mom OG in 2015.

The series is based on the lives of four women from the first season of 16 and Pregnant – Farrah Abraham, Maci Bookout, Catelynn Lowell and Amber Portwood. But where are the four women and their families now?

Here’s exactly what the original Teen Mom cast have been doing 2009.

Since 2009, Amber Portwood has been in extreme turmoil.

This week her name was splashed across headlines once again when TMZ reported that the 29-year-old was arrested for domestic battery against her boyfriend, Andrew Glennon.

It wasn’t the first time she has been accused of violent behaviour.

MTV previously aired footage of Portwood’s behaviour towards Gary Shirley, her daughter Leah’s father, on the show. One instance in particular prompted an official investigation. It was later found that she had been caught with a large quantity of marijuana and cocaine. In 2010, she was monitored for six months, but she was allowed to keep custody of her daughter.

Later that year, Portwood was charged with three counts of domestic violence – two on the back of on-camera abuse. It was just the beginning of a string of charges against the teen mother.

Between 2011 and 2012, it’s reported she spent a month in jail after violating her probation.

In December 2013, the reality television star spoke about the experience on Dr. Phil. On the show, she admitted to being high on prescription and illegal medication during Teen Mom.

She now sells nail designs online.

Farrah Abraham.

Farrah was known as the 17-year-old high school cheerleader whose boyfriend, Derek Underwood, died in a car accident two months before her daughter Sophia was born.

Two years after debuting on Teen Mom in 2009, Abraham decided to study again, receiving an associate degree in culinary arts and management from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale in Florida. It was this experience that inspired the release of her ‘Mom and Me’ pasta line.

One year on, the 28-year-old released her debut album, My Teenage Dream Ended. She later released a memoir of the same name, which made number 11 on The New York Times Best Sellers list.

But Abraham didn’t stray too far from reality television. In 2014, she was cast on Couples Therapy, a show that does exactly what it says. Controversially, Brian Dawe, her “boyfriend” on the show, claimed he was hired for the sake of the program, and Abraham continued receiving couple’s therapy… alone. She instead focused on repairing her relationship with her mother.

Throughout the years, Abraham has reportedly released two sex tapes and a line of sex toys, a past she opened up about in 2014 on an exclusive episode of Teen Mom, Being Farrah.

In 2015, she returned to reality television once more, entering the Big Brother house and becoming the fifth housemate to be evicted after 23 days.

Farrah’s Instagram profile describes her as “TV/FILM/WRITER/PRODUCER/DJ”.

Take from that what you will.

Maci Bookout has lived a relatively quiet life during her time on reality television.

After giving birth to her son Bentley as a teenager in 2008, Bookout broke up with Bentley’s father and began dating her childhood friend Kyle King. After rumours of infidelity, the pair broke up and she began to date motocross racer Taylor McKinney in 2012.

In 2015, after attending a local community college, Bookout graduated with an Associate of Arts degree.

In the same year, Bookout and McKinney welcomed their daughter Jayde, and after an on-screen proposal, the pair announced they were pregnant with their second child together, a son named Maverick, who was born in May 2016. In October 2015, the pair married in Florida.

Bookout has released two books – Bulletproof in 2016 and I Wasn’t Born Bulletproof: Lessons I’ve Learned (So You Don’t Have To) in 2017.

In 2008, Catelynn Baltierra (formerly Catelynn Lowell) fell pregnant with her boyfriend Tyler Baltierra.

Their daughter Carolyn (Carly) was born in May 2009 before she was adopted out to Brandon and Teresa Davis.

In 2013, alongside her now husband Tyler Baltierra, Catelynn followed in Farrah Abraham’s footsteps when the couple appeared on MTV’s Couples Therapy.

It must have been effective, because in 2014, the couple gave birth to their second daughter Novalee. One year later, the couple married in a wedding which was attended by their Teen Mom OG costars.

The couple later released a joint book, Conquering Chaos, in 2016. One year later, the pair debuted in their very own reality television show, Reunited. After just one episode, it was cancelled.

In 2017, Lowell shared with her social media followers that she was experiencing suicidal thoughts and seeking treatment after having a miscarriage and experiencing childhood trauma.

One year later, the couple announced they were expecting a third child, their daughter Vaeda, who was born in February this year.
