1. It turns out Married At First Sight’s’ Amanda actually quit the show last year to reunite with her ex.
Oh.
It turns out Married at First Sight bride Amanda Micallef, who is known for being uncharacteristically sure of her decision to be on the reality show, was due to appear on MAFS last year.
During an Instagram video in July 2019, Amanda told her followers she pulled out of the show last minute to rekindle with her ex.
“I actually did get in, I got accepted very early on, but I withdrew my application cause I’ve decided to work things out with my ex and give it another crack,” she said.
“The producer was a little gutted as they loved my application, they loved me… they decided pretty early on in the process that they wanted me and that was flattering and shattering at the same time.”
As we all know, Amanda did go on to appear on MAFS (this year) and married bartender Tash Herz, which has gone… swimmingly.
Married At First Sight airs Sunday to Thursday at 7.30pm on Channel 9.

2. “I’m ecstatic.” Montaigne has been chosen to represent Australia at Eurovision 2020.
24-year-old pop singer, Montaigne, will head to the Netherlands this May to represent Australia at Eurovision 2020. She’ll sing her hit song, ‘Don’t break me’.
Montaigne beat nine competitors in the SBS “Australia Decides” final, including Casey Donovan, Vanessa Amorosi and Jack Vidgen, with 54 points from the judging panel and a further 53 from the public vote.
4. Oh. Cindy Crawford’s son just got "misunderstood" tattooed on his face.
Cindy Crawford's son, Presley Gerber, has become the latest celebrity to get a face tattoo. And not just any face tattoo, the 20-year-old has made the very bold choice of getting the word "misunderstood" tattooed on his face.
Yep, it's pretty edgy.
Gerber shared a picture of his new ink on Instagram, thanking celebrity tattoo artist JonBoy, who also worked with Hailey Bieber and Kendall Jenner.
While the tattoo clearly makes a bold statement, it's not Gerber's first.
The model also has tattoos of a leaf on his hand and various other pieces on his arms.
5. "I wanted to scream." As fires approached Turia Pitt's home, she was brought back to 2011.
As the last hours of 2019 approached, 32-year-old Turia Pitt stood in her Ulladulla home and looked out over Mollymook Beach.
There was no blue anymore. The sky was gone, obstructed by clouds of smoke, thick and angry, and a deadly light glowed from behind a hill in the distance. The ocean was dull, a dark, murky green.
She watched as fires from the north and south joined over the coast.
But for Pitt, the sight and smell of a fast-moving fire was not an imagined nightmare she found herself facing for the first time.
“When I found out friends were planning on defending their property I felt like shaking them,” she wrote in her newsletter, sent with the subject line ‘A note from me’.
“‘You have no idea!!!’ I wanted to scream. You have no idea that a fire sounds like a thousand road trains coming towards you. You have no idea how hot it feels, and that you will watch your skin bubble before your very eyes. You have no idea that the smoke will feel like it’s invading every single one of your pores. And you have no idea that in those last few seconds where it’s almost upon you that you will KNOW that you are about to die.”
Because eight years ago, Pitt very nearly did.

Those grass teddy bears look so creepy.
I was hoping iOta or Jaguar Jonze would be our Eurovision entry, but I like Montaigne as well! That said, I thought some of the options this year were a bit dull. Too many power ballads, they all started to sound the same... and like a hundred other songs we've already heard at Eurovision. A couple of the songs they showed in the 'songs that didn't quite make the cut' bit were much more interesting, and I'd have loved to see Casey Donovan do something a bit more fun - a big, 70s/disco/dance banger would have been awesome!
