Five engagements and three marriages: A list of all the times Jennifer Lopez has been engaged.

After two years of dating, Jennifer Lopez, 49, and American baseball player Alex Rodriguez, 43, are engaged. The actress, singer and performer shared the news on her Instagram on Sunday, posting a photo of her engagement ring – a solitaire cut diamond – captioned with love heart emojis.

Rodriguez posted the same photo with the caption “she said yes”.

Rodriguez also shared a quote on his Instagram story:

“A soulmate isn’t someone who completes you. No, a soulmate is someone who inspires you to complete yourself. A soulmate is someone who loves you with so much conviction, and so much heart, that it is nearly impossible to doubt just how capable you are of becoming exactly who you have always wanted to be.”

The couple have been together for two years and earlier this year in February, Lopez wrote the following ode to honour their anniversary on Instagram:

“Two years of laughter. Two years of fun. Two years of adventures. Of excitement of growing and learning. Of true friendship. And so much love!!”

Lopez and Rodriguez first met in 2005 at a baseball game in Queens, New York, People reports. But it was not till a decade later in 2017, the couple began dating.

Lopez and Rodriguez both have children from previous relationships, which they co-parent together. Lopez shares 11-year-old twins, Maximilian David and Emme Maribel, with former husband Marc Anthony, and Rodriguez has two daughters, Ella Alexander, 10, and Natasha Alexander, 14, with ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis.

If their Instagrams are anything to go by, they are a happy blended family.

Jennifer Lopez’s four other engagements.

Since she’s been in the public eye, Lopez has rarely been single, having been engaged five times, married three, and in a relationship with dancer Casper Smart for five years. Now we know about the most recent of Lopez’s engagements, here’s what we know about the previous four.

1. Jennifer Lopez’s first husband: Ojani Noa

Lopez married waiter-turned-restaurateur Noa in 1997. They divorced less than a year later.

2. Jennifer Lopez's second husband: Cris Judd

Lopez and Judd, her former back-up dancer, wed in 2001. The couple separated after less than a year of marriage. Their divorce was finalised in January 2003, while Lopez was engaged to Ben Affleck.

3. Jennifer Lopez's third fiancée: Ben Affleck

Lopez and Affleck began dating in 2002, when they filmed Gigli. They also later worked together on the movie Jersey Girl and the singer's "Jenny From the Block" music video. The couple was famously nicknamed 'Bennifer' by the media.

In November 2002, Affleck proposed to Lopez, and they planned a wedding in Santa Barbara, California, on September 14, 2003. Affleck broke the engagement four days before the wedding day, citing "excessive media attention." Months later, the couple announced they had separated.

According to E! News, Affleck proposed to Lopez with a 6.1-carat pink-diamond solitaire Harry Winston ring, estimated to be worth between $1.2 and $2.5 million.

4. Jennifer Lopez's third husband: Marc Anthony

The two singers wed in 2004, and announced their separation in 2011. The divorced was filed by Anthony in 2012, and was finalised in 2014, although the pair have remained amicable and friends, presumably because of their children.

Anthony proposed to Lopez with an 8.5-carat blue diamond Harry Winston engagement ring, estimated to be worth $4 million.

Alex Rodriguez's romantic past.

Rodriguez may not have been engaged five times, but he's been linked to some notable women.

According to E! News, he had a rumoured affair with Madonna, whilst she was married to Guy Ritchie. Both Madonna and Rodriguez have denied the affair, with Madonna saying in an official statement in 2008:

"I know Alex Rodriguez through Guy Oseary, who manages both of us. I brought my kids to a Yankee game. I am not romantically involved in any way with Alex Rodriguez."

It is notable, however, that when Rodriguez's wife Cynthia Scurtis, whom he met in 1998, filed for divorce in September 2008, she alleged "extramarital affairs and other marital misconduct" on her husband's part.

After his divorce, Rodriguez publicly dated actors Kate Hudson and Cameron Diaz.
