The AFL Women's fixture is finally here, and that's not even the best news.

The AFL Women’s fixture has finally been announced, with a classic clash between old rivals Collingwood and Carlton to kick things off early next year.

The 28-match season starts on February 3 in Melbourne and is free to attend, as the entire season will be — aside from six double-headers with the men’s pre-season competition.

There's also great news for interstate footy fans with plans for all the games to be broadcast live on Fox Footy, along with a select few - including the grand final on March 25 - to go free-to-air on Channel Seven.

All AFLW matches will also be streamed live on the Official AFL Live App and at AFL.com.au.

Eight clubs will compete in the inaugural competition; Adelaide, Brisbane Lions, Carlton, Collingwood, Fremantle, Greater Western Sydney, Melbourne and the Western Bulldogs.

Adelaide, Collingwood, Fremantle and the Bulldogs will play four home games, while Brisbane, Carlton, GWS and Melbourne each have three.

A number of the players - announced in October's draft - shared their excitement on social media.

Last month, the clubs also revealed their new uniforms in Melbourne.
