Twenty years ago, Jennifer Mulford breastfed her daughter for eight months.
Now she’s breastfeeding again, but this time it’s not a baby or a toddler, it’s her partner. The couple have gone public about it in an attempt, Jennifer says, to normalise inhibitions around adult breastfeeding or ‘Adult Breastfeeding Relationships.’
The 36-year-old breastfeeding enthusiast told The Sun in 2016 that since she met her partner Brad – a body builder and father of one – she quit her job so that she can devote herself to establishing breastfeeding him.
Who is buying black market breast milk? Post continues after podcast.
She said that she had always been interested in adult breastfeeding and had tried to find a suitable partner through dating sites. She finally opened up to Brad, an old boyfriend from high school and when he expressed interest together they formed a relationship.
She says, “It was like a light switched flicked in his head. I could tell from his voice that he was curious and excited.”
She said: “At that moment I knew that I had a partner for life.”
“We both wanted the same thing out of the relationship – a magical bond that only breastfeeding can achieve.”
As she has not given birth her body is not lactating so she needs to “dry feed” to fool her body into producing milk.
She told the newspaper “I’ve taken a break from my job because I want to devote everything to making this work,” she said.
