A NCIS star has tweeted about being assaulted by a homeless man.

“I am shaken and traumatized.”

NCIS star, Pauley Perrette, has tweeted about her horrific ordeal being attacked on the streets of Hollywood yesterday.

In a screengrab the actress uploaded to Twitter, she explained, “my life changed tonight”, after being “jumped by a VERY psychotic homeless man” named William.

“He grabbed me so forcefully, pinned my arm, punched me in the nose, forehead repeatedly telling me he was going to kill me.”

“… I was alone, terrified and trapped.”

Remarkably, the 46-year-old was able to break free after telling the man, “William is a beautiful name, I have a little nephew named William”.

Perrette, who is most commonly recognised as NCIS forensic specialist Abby Scuito, incredibly took the opportunity to advocate for better conditions for the homeless, telling her followers, “we need full mental health care”.

“We need housing and help for the homeless.

We need to support our cops.

We need to not walk alone”

The star detailed how her assailant, who she described as having ‘murder in his eyes’, was subsequently arrested and charged with “felony assault” by police. It’s a traumatising event that has left Perrette “grateful to be alive”, telling her followers, “I need to heal”.

“I almost died tonight.”

Can't believe a man just walked past her on the street. That's dreadful.

Hoping that Pauley recovers both physically and mentally. Not to take away from her experience, but I feel quite nervous around the (assumed) drug addicts roaming Sydney CBD. I have dealt with everything from being called a 'c*nt', to having a man spit at me as I quietly walked past....it can be quite frightening as a lone woman (especially at night) as drugs make people unpredictable, violent and an apparent super human strength. This, and the fact that a lot of people seem to turn a blind eye when they see others being accosted....
