The controversial Netflix series 13 Reasons Why has been renewed for a third season.
Yep, it’s coming back… but it’ll be Hannah Baker-less.
Katherine Langford, the actress who plays the role of Hannah in the series, confirmed the news on Instagram on Tuesday.
“‘Hannah… I love you… and I let you go’,” she wrote on Instagram. “Those are the words I was able to say six months ago, and now can finally share with you.
“This show will always be a special part of my life, and regardless of whether Hannah is there or not, I know that I will continue to strive to do work that is meaningful and has a positive impact — whether that be in film, music, or any other form of art.
“There is a lot coming up this next year, and I can’t wait to share it with you.”
The first season of 13 Reasons Why quietly dropped on Netflix midway through last year.
For weeks, the TV show that depicted the violent suicide of a teenage girl dominated online conversations.
It sparked hundreds of think pieces and a whole lot of discussion about youth mental health and suicide.
The second season started streaming on Netflix a few weeks ago. It further explored the sexual assault plot line from the first season and wrapped up Hannah’s story line.
At this point we don’t know what season three will be about, but we imagine it’ll cover the same kind of gritty, heart-wrenching teen issues as the first two seasons.
Season three is set to premiere on Netflix sometime in 2019.

I'm not sure season 3 is a good idea unless it moves to a completely different school. Season 2 had a completely different feel to season 1 and I felt despite answering some of the lingering questions it wasn't up to par with the frist season. Going to S# would drag it down even further.
