1. 12-year-old boy accused of raping 6-year-old girl denies charges and allowed to go on holiday to Queensland island resort.

A 12-year-old boy accused of a raping a six-year-old girl in three separate attacks in a Northern Beaches school in Sydney has had his bail conditions changed so he can go on holiday with his family to a popular Queensland holiday island.

In court yesterday the boy’s lawyer, James Viney, entered not guilty pleas to six charges on his behalf.

The 12-year-old is one of two 12-year-olds accused of repeatedly raping a six-year-old girl in a toilet block at their school.

He is charged with three counts of indecent assault aggravated by taking place in the company of the other boy and one of sexual intercourse with a person under 10.

The alleged attacks occurred during 8am on June 24 and 4pm on July 1 with another attack allegedly on August 18th.

The boy’s lawyer asked permission for the boy to travel interstate with his family to go on holiday to a Whitsunday Island’s resort, reports News Limited.

Magistrate McManus excused the boy from attending on the next court date, November 24 and allowed him to fly to Queensland.

The second boy is due to appear in the same court on October 20.

2. Brad Pitt denies abuse allegations despite FBI stepping in to investigation.

Brad Pitt has denied claims he was verbally abusive and physical with his children.

TMZ reports that the FBI were investigating an incident on a private jet from France last Wednesday where Pitt got drunk and allegedly screamed and got physical with their six children.

According to TMZ, sources including witnesses said Pitt continued on the tarmac, and tried to leave in one of the fuel trucks.

It was reported that the incident was reported to the L.A. County Dept. of Children and Family Services and referred to the FBI.

It is understood that Pitt and Jolie have already been interviewed.

But a source close to Pitt  told TMZ “He takes the matter very seriously and says he did not commit any abuse of his children”.

“It’s unfortunate that people involved are continuing to present him in the worst possible light.”

3. Tiahleigh Palmer begged classmate to let her stay a week before she was murdered as she was too scared to go home.

Murdered 12-year-old Tiahleigh Palmer begged a classmate’s aunt to allow her to stay, just a week before she was murdered because she was scared to go home.

Seven News reports the 12-year-old girl went home with a friend from Marsden State School on Friday October 23 and asked the girl’s aunt if she could stay with them as she was worried she would get into ‘big trouble’ if she returned to her foster home.

Police will allege that just six days later Tiahleigh was murdered by her foster father, Rick Thorburn, 56.

It is alleged that Tiahleigh’s foster brother Trent Thorburn, 19, had been sexually assaulting her.

In a Facebook post Trent admitted to a cousin that he had sex with Tiahleigh and feared he impregnated her.

The woman says she contacted the Office of Child Safety in Brown Plains but was told to encourage Tiahleigh to go home.

4. Boy filmed sneaking into neighbour’s garage to hug their dog now has his own Labrador puppy.

The young boy, who went viral after CCTV of him sneaking into his neighbour’s garage to cuddle their dog has been bought his very own Labrador puppy.

Josh Breaux, from Louisiana was caught on CCTV on numerous occasions by his neighbour’s security cameras cycling up to her house and sneaking into the garage to pet her dog Duchess.

The neighbor took to Facebook to see if anyone knew the young boy and to thank him.

His mum came forward and said Josh was mourning the loss of his dog, Bella, who passed away last year.

She has now said that due to “friendly pressure” John has been given a three-month-old Labrador pup named Drake.

But his mum has told ABC that he still visits Duchess for a cuddle.

5. Teenage father who bashed newborn baby son to death has sentence reduced under appeal and may be released next year.

A teenager who bashed his four-week-old son in Bunbury Regional Hospital and killed him has had his sentence reduced because he suffers from foetal alcohol spectrum disorder.

The teenage boy was 15 when he was sentenced to 10-years in jail after he bashed his newborn son’s head against the wall or door frame of the hospital room.

The baby spent a week on life-support before he died nine days later.

This week a judge has reduced the teenager’s sentence as he suffers from foetal alcohol syndrome.

Chief Justice Martin said the teenager has “an organic brain injury as a result of maternal alcohol consumption in pregnancy.”

By the age of 11 the boy became a regular user of cannabis, amphetamines and alcohol reports WA Today.

The teenager had his jail sentence reduced to seven years which includes time already served and eligibility for supervised release at three-and-a-half years.

This means the teenager will be eligible for release next year.

6. Jetstar flight forced to make an unscheduled landing after smoke filled the cabin.

A Jetstar flight from Sydney to Cairns has bene forced to make an unscheduled landing in Brisbane after the cabin filed with smoke accompanied by a “scraping and grating” noise.

News Limited reports that many passengers were forced to wrap clothes around their face to try and prevent them from breathing in smoke.

It was pretty scary, just as we flew over Narrabri smoke started to fill the cabin and there was a scraping and grating noise,” passenger Nick Trompf said.

“There was significant concern among the cabin crew.”

7. Woman becomes pregnant when raped on first date.

A Melbourne woman who was raped on her first date and fell pregnant has said she is “haunted” by the rape.

In a victim impact statement read to the County Court on Thursday, during a pre-sentence hearing for her rapist Rubin Hu the woman said” I never thought my first baby would happen this way,"

"This rape caused my first pregnancy and this will haunt me for the rest of my life."

Hu June found guilty of two counts of rape in June.

The court heard on March 9 last year he attacked the woman at his Notting Hill home after the pair went on a date earlier that night, having earlier met online.

The court heard that the woman begged Hu to wear a condom, and that he asked when she had her last period.

Prosecutors said this exchange “aggravated the offending” given Hu knew there was a risk of pregnancy.

The Age reports that the woman later had an abortion.

Hu will be sentenced in December.

8. Man jailed for 100 years for drowning stepdaughter in hotel pool.

A man, caught on CCTV repeatedly tossing his helpless three-year-old stepdaughter into a swimming pool before leaving her to drown has been jailed for 100 years.

The incident occurred at a hotel in the city of Morelia in Mexico in August last year reports Metro. 

The footage shows the man throwing her in the pool, while her stepfather stands at the edge watching her.

Other swimmers in the pool don’t seem to realise what is going on.

The child’s mother was asleep in the hotel while the abuse occurred. The child was rushed to hospital but died.

The man received a 100-year prison sentence after the judge viewed the footage.
