Too much Chloe is not enough.
I love Olivia Newton John's daughter Chloe Latanzi. Here, in a magnificent clip from the show, we see her visit her father, ONJ's ex-husband Matt Latanzi. Matt lives in a teepee. Yes he does. At one point, Chloe is telling him how hard she's finding the experience of being judged and criticised on the MTV reality show Rock The Cradle.
Her Dad looks at her, takes a cleansing breath and says "That's why I live in a teepee".
Right on Matt.

Is this what she naturally looks like? I mean is supposed to look like? Doesnt anyone else think she's a bit ODD looking.. I mean shes in her early 20s right? She just looks so tweaked.. none of my friends her age look so pixie like.. has she had plastic surgery? or is that stating the obvious... anyone?

Whether she has had plastic surgery or not, and more than most girls her age or not, isn't important.
We have to remember that she's a girl scarred by her fight with anorexia and we have no idea of how she manages to cope with this and other issues, some of which she may keep private.
Those who've watched her for years probably wonder why some of her performances left to be desired.
We know she can do better. We know she has talent.
And on top of it all she's capable of being different, unique and she is unafraid to take risks.
I think that despite some moments which may not have been the best in her career (as a performer, whether it is for tv or singing), she has the spark in her and the talent - unfortunately not evident enough during Rock the Cradle - to be a great singer.
Those who've known about her before Rock the Cradle may understand what I'm talking about.
I hope for her that she manages to get over this difficult experience and get her act together (which I'm sure she's capable of doing) and work on all the aspects that need working on, and then we'll have a Chloe Lattanzi that can impress the crowd and sway them, a charismatic performer who will garner rave reviews and acquire a loyal and admirative public.
This is not hypebole: this young lady is capable of a lot, if people encourage her and she is supported.
Her artistry seems ready to begin blossoming. And if she works on the technical aspects of performance as well as develops as an artist and individual, I am sure that this painful episode where she was criticized, harshly, will be a thing of the past. A brief, though very trying moment.
Instead, we will have a happy, intense, beautiful, vibrant, capable young woman who can captivate people with her voice and with her soul.

She needs to stop having collagen put in her lips, she looks ridiculous.
Every time I see an interview with her, I feel like shaking her! Why is she doing this to herself! She breaks down every time someone says something that she doesn't want to hear. I fear she is going to be having a major breakdown in the coming years because she's constantly seeking external validation....

how sweet that mother and daughter share the same plastic surgeon! You are so openly anti cosmetic surgery Mia, but love Chloe - don't quite get it.....

That part where she is "chanting" with her dad was hilarious. How can anyone take that seriously!

Well, don't put your daughter on the stage is what ONJ should have remembered. All of the interviews denying the kid's problems, saying "Chloe's doing just fine - she's writing songs..." What about sending Chloe to college or Chloe finding a job so that she actually works 40 hours a week? Low self esteem might not be such a big problem for her then. Seems to me she got her father's singing voice and her mother's acting talent - in other words, not very much at all.

Thanks to Mia i got hooked on watching the episodes of Rock the Cradle via the internet (and got a massive internet bill that month but thats another story) and to be honest OFan Chloe just didnt seem to have any talent to me.
Regardless of her personal issues. I agree she is unique and has her own image but she made every song dark and her voice is scary! Every has bad days, but I would think that after a number of performances that her talent would have shined through- unfortunately i didnt see it. For me she just didnt cut it and she needs to have thicker skin if she's exposing herself to the music industry.

I can't stand her voice! Her speaking voice isn't that low, why does she try to sing in that range?
Posted by: Dataceptionist | May 21, 2008 at 10:33 AM
You'd actually be amazed how much speaking and singing ranges can differ. But also, it sounds as though someone has told her to use her chest voice, because singing that sort of thing in your head voice sounds retarded, and she actually can't access her chest voice in a higher range (very common problem, especially with people who aren't trained. After 2 and a half years of lessons, I'm still only just overcoming that).

Her Lips seem to impede her ability to sing properly.
People might bag out Britney Spears but she is an amazing performer! Chloe seemed disgusted she had to perform a Britney Song....Britney is so good she made it look easy. Which is obviously is not. Gen Y's preoccupation with fame is alarming! I say that as someone who wanted to be Frida from Abba and did my fair share of singing into the hairbrush!
I hope Britney gets her groove back...I think she will. Anyway Chloe and Britney have one thing in common....their personal woes have been in public! But it looks like Britney will bounce back stronger than ever.
