I wish celebrity mothers wouldn't do this.....

Just six months after the birth of her second child, The View's Elisabeth Hasselbeck has posed in a bikini for Fitness mag.
One word: WHY?????
"Body image has nothing to do with scale numbers, it's how you feel inside," Hasselbeck, who turns 31 this month, told Fitness magazine. "This is the first time I've felt free from that, because I am working out in a way where I feel so strong that there's no room for those doubts. "I finally told myself ... 'I've got some curves, I've got a bubble butt, but I don't mind, because it's what powers me forward when I run.' "
Look, good on her or whatever but every time a celebrity does this, poses for ridiculous, air-brushed photos within days, weeks or months of giving birth, it raises the bar even higher. It increases the already ridiculous expectations society places on new mothers (and, worse, that new mothers place on themselves) to "bounce back" after giving birth.
Why can't they just stay in their tracksuits like the rest of us DAMMIT.

Check out Essential Baby again ppl :-)

I see the celeb mums who are back to pre-baby in record time, and I envy them (and my 'baby' is 13). But really, how much time do these people get to spend with their babies, when they are having to focus so hard on getting back to stickthin?

ah! that essential baby article was *genius*. loved the ending :)
on the celeb mothers, i can only agree. i HATE it when they do this. Heidi Klum is the worse at this if you ask me. and why do they insist on the clearly untrue comments "i've never felt so comfortable with my body and my curves", yadda yadda yadda. it just makes it all the more sickening...
it used to be the case that people were surprised if you bounced back quickly (some ppl really do); now it's almost the case that they're surprised if you don't.
and there is SOOOO much air-brushing going on. i mean, please, i don't care how much you exercise and diet, certain things will never be the same again... a part of it is just stretched out SKIN.
and you know what else REALLY gets to me? their BOOBS!!! surely these people are not breastfeeding. because if you breastfeed long enough, things are gonna start to SAG...

I also wonder how many staff they have to do all the chores that seem to fill my day from dawn to dusk and beyond. If I had a couple of nannies, a housekeeper, gardener, etc I'd have more time to obsess about my looks too. Probably a good thing I don't!

She is dwelling in celebrity alternate universe, which has nothing to do with real life. The pressure women put on other women is pretty bad. Where have all the daring women gone? Remember some time ago when Jamie Lee Curtis posed for some mag without ANY airbrushing or make-up? For real (not even "I'm not wearing any make-up make-up"). She looked...well...like she had had a tonne of kids and was 50 whatever years old. She was fabulous...and so sexy for being so daring! I get so bored with these yummy mummy clones. So sacchrine and perfect I could puke.

I would just love to hear one celebrity mum declare that she'll never do bikini shots because her stomach has stretch marks. Or maybe they diet when they're pregnant and have such tiny babies their stomachs dont stretch like normal peoples.
