Gee, think Tyra is going for shock value? Worked. Yuck.
In a bid to make the homeless photo shoot challenge look like a couture tea-party, a recent shoot challenge on America's Next Top Model has involved THE MODELS POSING WITH MEAT.
Not sure how this could possibly be useful if you were actually wanting to be an actual model. Unless your aspiration was less Vogue and more Abbatoir Annual.
Helpfully, Miss Tyra set something of an example with the shot below.
"
This is possibly one of the most disgusting things I've ever seen. You know, in a fashion sense.
I just hope it turns some people vegetarian. I'll be having tofu tonight......
Pix of all the girls after the jump. Take a deep breath first.

I dunno how I missed this being posted... but YUCK!!!
What was the reason for doing this Tyra?! Was it something to do with 'no publicity is bad publicity'?!

This is wrong - fashion in a meathouse..who knew..
They should read the book Skinny Bitch and I am sure they would not pose with meat the same way again.
I agree with you Mia - tofu sounds great tonight.

Disgusting! If they have to resort to this (and the homeless thing) in an attempt to garner attention for the show, then maybe they need to just can the damn show. I feel ill.......

It is pretty gross but I think what Tyra is trying to do is train the model wannabes to be able to pose and look fabulous even in the most bizarre/disgusting/weird places and positions.
Thats what I think.

That is just REVOLTING!! Arghhhh.. I feel sick! Im not eating meat today... ewwwww... I feel sorry for the models! Imagine posing amongst dead meat.. how unsexy can u get.. gross.... What on earth was she thinking?

It's not creative, it's just tacky and tasteless and a desperate bid for attention. Are they trying to say something? If so - what? I'm not vegetarian and it's not like I find this offensive but just stupid and thoughtless. Not cutting edge - just boring fashion trying to be cool. Poor effort

gross. plain and simple.

I wouldn't blame the models, blame the producer's or whoever thought of it!! Are they tapped?
Ridiculous.

I didn't look at the small shots, thankfully, by the sounds of it.
I thought the top pic looked bizarre though since Tyra doesn't even look like she's thinking about eating the forkful, more like she's going to suddenly fling it at the camera.

The file name on the photos says it all - PETA.

What's the big deal? It's just meat. Surely most of you eat that stuff every day? I see zero shock value here.

Meat packing district.Anyone?

I am a vegetarian and I just think the photos are bizarre. They are no more disgusting than your average eat more lamb/meat/pork campaign. They may not have much to do with fashion, but as someone else said, Tyra is setting them up to be able to do any modelling anytime, including stuff they don't want to do. I find it more offensive that on the Aussie version the other week they made the girls pose with their fears, reducing several into sobbing heaps. That is revolting, even if the photos turned out more appealing!
Also, tofu? Yuk, never eat the stuff, soy all the way for me, don't like flavoured cardboard pulp.
