Another reason to be happy you're not famous. Or the daughter of someone famous. Or a princess.
Did you see these photos of Princess Beatrice on holidays in a cossie at the beach?
The Princess's mum, Fergie, has come out to attack the media over their treatment of her daughter. Three cheers for that. The Duchess said Beatrice was a regular size 10 and fit and healthy. Although now she'll probably now spend the next six months crouched over a toilet bowl and insist on wearing a burka in public (I said that last bit not Fergie). Poor girl.
Sarah Ferguson has told BBC Radio that the critical comments are potentially damaging.
"The press has been absolutely outrageous, and really being very mean about the size of her figure, calling her such horrible names, I just think they ought to take more responsibility.
I think her (Beatrice's) comment was, 'Will they be happy if I get anorexia because then they could write about that, wouldn't they?

I think she looks great. She has a curvy figure but it is toned not flabby and she has a lovely flat tummy.

(I think you meant public.)
Poor kid. She is (apparently) not the world's most confident poppet, and this would make anyone feel like crap (honestly, who EVER wanted to be photographed leaving the surf? snotty nosed, sandy - no way!). It's not like she's courted the spotlight, in which case I'd be a little less sympathetic.
I was glad her mum stood up and said her piece. In between Weight Watchers appearances. After all, you'd hate the girl to become obsessed with her body, wouldn't you?
Just sad. Thank you Lord that my parents are nobody.

My first thought when I saw these pictures in a woman's mag, was that she was not fat, but girlfriend tie you bikini top up tighter!

I just can't believe what has happened to publishing over the past 20 years. When I was a teenager you never saw photos and captions ridiculing normal sized women because they were famous. It's disgusting and so damaging to young women. How can anyone say the warped media climate that has been created isn't brainwashing women into thinking they have to be skinny freaks. And when they are skinny freaks they still won't be good enough.

Well I think she looks fabulous (would love to have a nice hourglass figure like that, I remember the days before children when I still had a waist..!) and clearly so does her boyfriend BUT if that's a Size 10 then I'm the Queen of Sheba! Why can't people just be honest about sizing? To lie about that (and therefore try and say that Size 10 is average and desirable rather than being what it is - quite thin) makes Fergie as bad as the detractors IMHO!

She looks really good. I haven't seen the media reports. We need to stop buying the magazines that print this sort of thing its the only way forward, otherwise it will never stop.

She looks gorgeous but I think the cut of the bikini bottom is unflattering - even on skinny girls - and maybe she needs a top with special cups for the busty girl. Maybe Tigerlilly should send her some !!

I saw Fergie last night on TV. I think she was referring to the American size 10, which is not at all like ours - more like a 14 or 16, I think.
As neither Beatrice's mother or father is exactly a string bean, I think she's just the cards that were dealt her. And good for her! Am just glad that she has a job that pays well enough for her to have such a holiday!!

Yeah who cares! She looks like a regular girl.. The media can be so cruel.. poor girl. I think its great cause she must make normal size normal looking girls feel normal at least! Compared to all the other perfect specimens anyhow ;)

The Size 10 thing threw me a bit, but really, who cares - she looks healthy. Sizing is a crock anyway - in 10 different stores you can be 10 different sizes, before you get into the whole UK/US/Au differences.
She has a lovely figure, is not noticibly over or underweight, and looks to have been enjoying herself in a healthy manner - isn't that what youth is for?

She's beautiful and sexy, with a perfect hourglass figure. Picking on a young girl is really bitchy and irresponsible. I bet the person who said that isn't a perfect 10 themselves. Losers.

Not buying the size 10 part, but she's definitely not fat. That bikini top, is however, incredibly unflattering.

it's so sad that the media would say that (but not suprising, alas) - she looks beautiful to me!

Personally, I think she looks gorgeous. That's sad that the media is trying to make her ashamed of her body.

Hahaaa! She isn't fat at all for christ sake, she has a lovely figure.. fine she isnt skinny but she is still really attractive, it is so cruel for them to write things like that about her... Omg i hate the media so much. bunch of hypocritical judgemental dogs the lot of them
heartless bastards

I'm biased because I like full figured women. But you're right that the media tends to go over board.

WTF!! This is the first time I've seen Beatrice, but I've seen her mother and boy, is she up on the game! She is a beautiful, healthy girl, and it's absolutely criminal that they're making her feel bad about her body. Those news snoops need to spend a few months in the U.S, they'll think twice before critisizing a perfectly lovely girl.

She has an unbelievably beautiful figure. She's perfect, really. Large breasts, shapely legs and hips, and a TINY waist. She's gorgeous.
