We all know that reality television can be a little unrealistic at times but it seems The Voice Kids may be taking the “real” out of the scenario completely.
It’s only been four days since the series winner was crowned but it’s been revealed that the season final of The Voice Kids was actually filmed some three months ago.
According to The ABC’s new program Reality Check, the final was filmed to accommodate the busy schedule of ex-Spicegirl judge Mel B. But that’s not even the surprising part.
In an interesting twist it was revealed that the announcement of the winner was filmed three times. That’s once with each of the three finalists being crowned winner.
We can’t work out whether this was a lovely way to make all the finalists feel included or a somewhat cruel and unrealistic taunt aimed at avoiding tears from the two runners-up.
Either way it seems that reality is at a growing loss in the twisted industry that is reality television.
Take a look at some of the kids who competed on this years’ show:
What do you think? Was it fair of The Voice Kids to film at three finalists as winners?

I HATE the pre recorded grand finals! It just always feels so fake! I can't understand why - if they were so sorry about time and availability etc - pre-recorded the performances then cut to Mel B in LA when the votes were tallied efc
I was at the filming of The Voice Kids finale all those months ago, heck it was filmed before the show had even begun to air on TV.
Something that stuck out to me at the time was that the 6 finalists who were given the trip to Disneyland were more elated than the three finalists who filmed their 'winning' endings - I guess because it was a real surprise to them, something they knew that had one and didn't have to fake for the cameras.
It may not have been fair to the contestants to film three alternate endings, but it was probably a better solution than not allowing the audience to vote or putting the contestants under the pressure of live television.
The kids made a few mistakes during filming things like interviews (completely understandable I'd say) and they were afforded the opportunity to do it over again. For example Robbie filmed his introduction about four times, even though they only aired him once. The finale started filming at 5pm in the evening, and it was after 11pm before they wrapped. Can you imagine if that aired?
