Sylvia Jeffreys and Peter Stefanovic have some big news.

From colleagues to pen pals to one one our favourite couples to… husband and wife!

Sylvia Jeffreys and Peter Stefanovic have announced their engagement on social media this morning.

“How’s this for a framer?!” Jeffreys captioned an image of the pair in the country – a big ‘ol engagement firmly planted on her ring finger.

“A couple of weeks ago Pete popped the question, and I said yes, OF COURSE!!! We’ve had the most wonderful time celebrating with great mates. We couldn’t be happier (check the grins) and so excited to share the news with everyone.”.

Stefoniv also shared a snap on his own account, captioned: “Asked my missus to be my wife and she said yes.”

When the pair stepped up to co-host the Today show over the 2013 Christmas break, the on-air chemistry was palpable.

They didn’t get together straight away, but when Stefanovic returned to his post as Channel Nine’s Europe correspondent he began to write her letters from the other side of the world.

Since then, the pair have been together for almost two years and live together in Jeffreys’ Sydney “sorority house” where she had been living with her girlfriends.

We have a feeling they’ll be looking for a new place pretty soon.
