Yep – it IS possible.
If you’re a woman who has ever attended a special event or a big night out, you’ll know that sadly, looking glamorous usually goes hand in hand with feeling uncomfortable.
We can probably all recall memories of exhausted ends to evenings where we tear off our dresses, unclip the firm grip of our bras, pull out the bobby pins piercing into the sides of our head and gratefully free our throbbing feet from our heels.
“Beauty is pain” we mutter to ourselves as we justify yet another uncomfortable outfit choice, because, you know, we want to look good, right?
But it really doesn’t need to be that way.
In fact, there are six clever hacks you can use to make sure you feel glamorous AND comfortable next time you dress up. Because really, no woman should have to feel sore in order to look good.
1. Prevent blisters by putting Vaseline on the heel of your foot.
Seriously. This tip is usually used by runners in endurance events, but God knows, standing up in a pair of heels for hours on end is just as much of feat. All you need to do is smear a small amount of Vaseline over your heels and it will form a protective layer between your skin and the fabric of the shoe.

2. Secure rolled up sleeves with a thin hair tie.
It’s pretty frustrating when you try to style an outfit by rolling up the sleeves only to see them fall down time and again. But you can nail effortlessly cool with the help of Olivia Palermo who says she secures one of her signature looks by pushing up sleeves using a thin hair tie.
3. Wear a properly fitted bra.
When your bra doesn’t fit properly, it’s visible through your outfit and is also likely to be incredibly uncomfortable. It’s also fairly cringe-worthy when you look back at pictures of yourself with bra lines and exposed straps or when you can see your bra cutting you off or sagging and wrinkling in the wrong places. Taking the time to get fitted and find the perfect bra for your clothes is the foundation of not only looking good, but being comfortable. And it takes less than 15 minutes to get fitted by a professional.
