Who would have thought there would be a time where we’d look back at Lady Gaga’s pantsless ensembles and consider them modest?
But here we are.
It’s no longer enough for female celebrities to earn publicity by foregoing pants; the battle for attention has escalated.
It’s now perfectly acceptable to upload a photo of your naked butt to social media save for some flimsy string fabric holding together your dignity.
Was it not bad enough when people wore leggings as pants? Or when they stopped wearing pants altogether?
Did our eyes not suffer enough for fashion?
Clearly not. Because now? Now bum cheeks appear to be the new black.
You thought you’d removed g-strings from between your buttocks and left them back in the 90s didn’t you? Yes you did. But you didn’t.
Because they’ve rocketed back into popular culture faster than you can say anal floss.
Ke$ha made the world her proctologist this week when she uploaded a photo of her g-stringed bare bum on Instagram, Rihanna pole-danced and twerked in one and Miley Cyrus gave herself a Bald Frontal Wedgie for Terry Richardson (we made that term up but what else do you call it?)

is not just pop stars. i saw women last summer in high-waisted panties passing for 'shorts'. not once but at least a half dozen time and this is in New York City. American society is just too damn uptight about the human body... Its nice to see women shedding more and more clothing and losing this stigma that nudity equals whore. . I think we men should be next. I cant wait for the day i can walk around with no pants. bring it on!

Why would it hold together your dignity? Seriously, it's a body, GET OVER IT. You will not be damaged by the glimpse of a naked body, infact this puritanism that still exists shaming people over their clothing choice is far more damaging than nudity ever is. Showing your gstring, even to the world does not make you less worth of respect nor does it mean you are less dignified. Do you really think having your vulva seen makes you not worth of ethical treatment or value?
Err big leap to suggest that MM thinks showing you vulva doesn't make you worthy of ethical treatment!! I'm pretty sure that goes against everything this site stands for.
The point being made is that when you're putting those images out there of yourself, you're asking to be primarily judged and valued for your sexuality. If that's the asset that you're asking to be valued and judged on, you're implying that it's your best asset. If your sex appeal is your best, most valuable asset, what does that say about your other qualities? You are choosing to present (whether it's true or not) that your other qualities, such as your kindness, intelligence, integrity, etc comes secondary to that....or might not exist.
Obviously someone hot can be very intelligent or kind, or whatever else. But if you choose a profession or life style (like posting naked selfies) that represents that you value your looks or sex appeal above your other qualities, you can't be upset when people make assumptions about what that means about your other qualities.

Are you serious? She's one of the best singers ever. Does her singing make it her only trait to be judged on? Or when she's on tv, is it just her interview skills or are humans advanced enough to understand people have more than one skill? Because what you describe is a society of little children who lack intelligence.
When you (not you you) say "covering" your dignity, what do you think dignity means?
