If you regularly stalk Mamamia’s Instagram account you’ll know that we’ve moved offices, and it’s this move that has made me come to the conclusion (quite late to the party) that flats are the far superior shoe choice.
Not only do I now walk further to get to work, but we have this expanse of wooden floor, which echoes to the loudly if you wear heels.
So loudly that anyone in heels or boots has to awkwardly prances on their tip toes for fear of interrupting everyone in our open plan office.
Since spending all day walking in towering heels is for chumps, read on for 19 pairs of flats, from Prada-inspired patent oxfords to the prettiest of ballet slippers.
And what’s a shoe list without a pair of animal-motif slippers? Nothing, so they’re in there too.

Can anyone recommend some very comfortable basic black ballet flats? Ideally they won't fall apart or have hard leather that digs in at the sides. My feet are weird, wide at the top and narrow at the back so shoes have a tendency to slip off there. Much appreciated in advance.
I'm not sure if we can do links here but go to Styletread and find Bellez by Django and Juliette. They come in many colours but there is a basic black option too. They are the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. They're kind of expensive ($140!) but I've had them for 3 years now and there's very little sign of wear and tear. I wear them several times a week.
