Because #peoplearegood – oh yes they are.
Life has a funny way of reminding us to keep our heads high and to focus on the positive. And what could be more positive and uplifting than ducklings? (answer: NOTHING. There is nothing in the world that beats baby ducks.)
Hello, cutie.
This video, entitled “People being awesome”, was recently posted by Animals Australia. It reminds us to have faith in humanity even when times are tough.
It’s a reminder that we shouldn’t give up on each other because there is life and happiness in the most unlikely of places.
Sit back and enjoy as your faith in humanity is restored…
The campaign, Save Our Ducks, was started by the RSPCA and Animals Australia to rally support for duck welfare during the recent Victorian election. It, and other similar campaigns, have attracted a lot of attention online. And with pictures like these, why wouldn’t they?

We can’t decide if this bizarre video is cute or horrifying. But millions of people are watching it.

So if it is not okay to shoot animals like baby ducks for fun, then why is it okay to kill other baby animals for taste? Baby pigs are cute too, right? Is the ten minutes of eating your bacon and eggs worth the slaughter of an innocent animal who so desperately wants to be alive?
Touchy subject for me. I am really passionate about making cruelty-free choices.
It is totally worth it. Bacon is awesome.
Eggs, are non fertilised chicken eggs and you can buy free range eggs. That will minimise the cruelty.
The conditions of how some pigs are kept is cruel admittedly, but if you shop around you can also find free range pork. Humans are omnivorous by nature and biology (our body's adapted to eat meat AND veggies), it's a not so nice part of nature. While there is a lot wrong with the gluttony the first world displays and some aspects of food farming, an all vegetable diet isn't as good for the world as you might think either. No choice is perfect.
Pigs aren't babies when they're slaughtered for bacon... I've been to an abattoir.
And I love my bacon.
Yeah people that don't eat eggs for moral reasons I think are ridiculous. I don't think they realise that chickens lay eggs anyway with or without a rooster. It is like ovulating every day but releasing it outside your body. If humans didn't collect and eat eggs there would be hundreds and thousands or rotting eggs everywhere.
Actually videos of baby ducklings are not giving me the warm fuzzies at the moment, due to the fact that our ducks have had their first hatchings this year, and it has not been a success. I hate to say it, but they are terrible mothers. Crows took the first 18 ducklings, so we managed to rescue, with much chaos, a mother with 4 ducklings and pop her in an enclosure. So far two have died, next year I'll be giving them to the chooks to hatch. They are such sweet, sweet wee beasties, and it's been an awful spring season :(
Oh no! Is that normal for ducks?
