It’s official. The royal baby is coming.
The Palace has announced that the Duchess of Cambridge – also known as Kate Middleton – has arrived at the hospital where the royal baby will be born.
This from the website of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge:
Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge has been admitted to St. Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, London in the early stages of labour.
The Duchess travelled by car from Kensington Palace to the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital with The Duke of Cambridge.
Papparazzi have been camped outside the private Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital in London for weeks now.
St Mary’s is also where Prince William and Prince Harry were born to the late Princess Diana.
The world is very, very excited to meet the future heir to the British throne.
After tying the knot in an epic April ceremony in 2011, the Duke and Duchess were forced to let the world in on their big baby secret when Kate was admitted to hospital for severe morning sickness in December last year.
No further news as yet, but DON’T PANIC! Here’s a royal gallery to tide you over:

I'm selfishly hoping she can keep her legs crossed for another 12 hours so the bub will be born on my birthday tomorrow!
My bday today aswell. No luck - the little man couldnt wait for our birthday.
I can't help feel a bit sad for Kate & Will that the whole world knows this very private information. I was hoping the 'powers that be' would allow her lots of privacy ie. Announcing to the public a few days AFTER the baby is born. I just think it would have been really special to share those precious first few days with just family!! To have He/she all to themselves for a few days.
Does this make sense? I haven't articulated it very well ( looooong day).
In saying all that, I am very excited to hear the news!!
Its tradition that an announcement is made as soon as the child is born - they are the future heir to the throne after all. They are not going to be paraded to the public, so I am sure they will have time to bond together, unless they log online to see some news on themselves...
I do understand that an announcement would be made soon after the birth, but does the world need to know she's in labour? No, we don't! Give the poor girl some privacy!!!
Well, this is her job, pretty much her first one all things considered.
