Nude pregnancy shoots. Celebrities do them all the time. In fact, as soon as a famous person wees on a stick, their phone magically rings, and a magazine editor is on the other end, asking them to strip off for their cover.
Some of them do it over and over and over, like Kourtney Kardashian, who is pregnant with her third child, and has posed naked each time.
Today she’s all over the Internets with her bump covered only in some well-placed feathers and a wide-open silk robe.
She looks incredible – like the fertility goddess of lipgloss.
Here, enjoy:
and this one:
Interestingly, Kourtney says that when she’s pregnant is the ONLY time she wants to pose nude. She did her first naked shoot when she was pregnant with her oldest son, Mason, who’s now almost 5, and is sceptical that she would do it any other time.
‘I would never say never, but I don’t think so, no,’ she told DuJour Magazine, who she’s posing for.
‘What appeals to me is celebrating the shape of my body being pregnant and capturing that time in my life.’
And then, this:
‘I’m at my best when I’m pregnant. It’s such an amazing feeling, the transformation that your body goes through.
‘There’s something about that that’s so empowering and beautiful and I just really embrace it.’
Really? Really? We’re all for celebrating the wonderfulness of the female body in all its stages, reproductive or otherwise, and especially of anything that makes you feel like a powerful, spectacular babe.

I'd do it if I looked as good as her. I don't see why people get so angry about it. Pregnancy is something that is so normal and should be allowed to be celebrated. I went out in a singlet dress the other day (42 degree heat, 30 weeks pregnant) and I got so many compliments from people who said it's so nice to SEE a bump instead of it being covered up with a tent. I didn't wear it for that purpose, but I'm glad it made some people happy. I remember when Nicky Buckley had her first baby on Sale of the Century and she was slayed in the media for 'showing off' her bump in clothes that didn't HIDE it. Whatever!
No children of my own, but a few friends of mine have recently had kids and some felt shocking while pregnant, others absolutey loved it. I went to the baby shower of a girl I've known since I was thirteen and having not seen her for a while and knowing her pregnancy wasnunder difficult circumstances, I expected her to be feeling a little more desperate for the pregnancy phase to end so she could meet her little boy. To my surprise, she was the epitome of that "glowing expectant mother" trope - utterly gorgeous and looking happier and healthier than ever. Pregnancy definitely suited her both physically and mentally. I thought it was fantastic. If she had chosen to do a nude shoot (or any kind of pregnancy shoot), I wouldn't have blamed her. She was having the time of her life.
