With regards to The Bachelor announcing that he is now desperately in love with 2nd runner up Louise Pillidge and that they plan on moving in together and the resulting outpouring of putrid hate towards Louise, can I say this?
CALM THE FUCK DOWN AUSTRALIA.
Louise has been the subject of extreme vitriol and online condemnation for abandoning her ‘friends’ in the house in favour of hooking up with man whose love she was competing for.
To give you an idea of what the most hated woman in the country is copping online:
Seriously, take a proverbial chill pill Australia and for all our sakes, shelve the thing right up your bottom, so that it may take effect immediately.
I have not hidden my disdain for this television show, however it continues to dominate my social media timeline so perhaps I am the best person to comment on the latest happenings, as I’m not as emotionally involved as some of you appear to be.
In a exclusive interview with one of the ladies’ mags, Blake and Louise have professed their love for one another in a vomit inducing tell-all spectacular. Blake sent Louise a sappy letter via her father, confessing his deep love and expressed that he hoped to be her “first love, last love and only love” (pauses to dry wretch).

This whole story has been dragged out long enough. Big deal he broke up with Sam. There are lots of men&women out there who have been dumped and have moved on. If Louise has chosen to be with him then so be it. I doubt Sam was interested in anything serious from the word go, all she wanted was a platform to show herself of she's tirelessly maximising on any air time she gets.
I detest the show and didn't watch any episodes until the final after which I became OBSESSED with everything Bachelor and hoovered up the SCANDAL and DRAMA. Many of my friends are the same and it's interesting...why are we so damn fascinated?? I think it's the OUTRAGE and INJUSTICE of a man being a complete dick and then getting what he wants anyway. Many of us have experienced this in our own lives and I suppose all our hurt/anger/frustration with our own relationships is coming out. I also think it is this outrage and discomfort at how women are treated in these shows and in our society. Despite how gorgeous, accomplished and intelligent many of the Bachelor women are they're putting their lives on hold to compete for a man. Despite how shit he treats them and how much pain he causes they're, like Louise still delighted to win his heart in the end and give up their lives to move to Perth to be with him while suffering humiliation and vitriol in the media. I think it's this awful thing that many women relate to that no matter how empowered or independent we are, our ultimate accomplishment is scoring a man and we'll sacrifice our self respect and much of our own lives to achieve it. Obviously there are many women that aren't like this at all, but I still think it is way too prevalent and a complete double standard between men and women.
