This is proof that Photoshop can be used for more than slimming thighs and shrinking waists. It can also be used for good.
This dad’s darling daughter passed away when she was only six-weeks-old – and the photos he had of Sophia, all showed his little girl attached to hospital tubes. She was born on May 30 at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, but died from complications from hepatic hemangioma.
Nathen Steffel, from Ohio, had a simple request: he wanted a photo of his daughter without the tubes.
The father-of-two posted on the website Reddit, “My daughter recently passed away after a long battle in the children’s hospital… Since she was in the hospital her whole life, we never were able to get a photo without all her tubes. Can someone remove the tubes from this photo?”
The response was instantaneous – and overwhelming.
Users started sending through beautifully photoshopped pictures, and even sketches, his daughter Sophia. Here’s just a few of the images that came through for the grieving father.
Nathen Staffel told Today, “I didn’t really want all the publicity, I just wanted a picture. What I received was a whole lot of love and support from complete strangers.”
Well played, Internet.

What a beautiful little angel.
Number 5 in particular is just beautiful. Not to take away from the bad, but humanity really can be wonderful
