It may have been over 20 years since the first Toy Story film premiered, but the fan theories just keep on coming.
And with the release of a new trailer for Toy Story 4, fans have even more questions about the Pixar series.
With just a few months to go until Toy Story 4 premieres in June, we decided to take a look back at entertainment writer John Negroni’s famous crazy fan theory about Andy’s father.
Watch the trailer for Toy Story 4 here. Post continues below…
Here’s what he had to say:
A few years ago, I argued the theory that Andy’s mother is actually Emily, the girl who originally owned Jessie in Toy Story 2. The post quickly went viral, as many people began debating whether or not this is true, intentional, etc.
Since then, literally hundreds (if not thousands) of people have been asking me about Andy’s dad, and I’ve never wanted to address the issue for one key reason:
It’s depressing.
The original theory was first posited by Jess Nevins, an incredibly talented writer who published his take on “Mr. Davis” back in 2010. I’ll elaborate on his theory and build upon it with my own insights.
