And while the long anticipated fifth season is everything we hoped for and more, we kind of care more about how Francesca Curran, who plays the terrifying character of ‘Skinhead Helen’ looks like a different person in real life.

The 24-year-old actor, who undergoes hours of extreme hair and makeup every day to play the white supremacist neo-Nazi Litchfield prisoner, has shared the logistics behind what it takes to get into character. Spoiler: It’s intense.
“I’d come in, in the morning, and I was always the first person in and the last person out of the makeup chair. I would see the whole cast come and go,” she told Insider.
Aside from casually getting her head shaved EVERY MORNING, Francesca’s ‘Skinhead Helen’ also requires 20-30 star tattoos on her face, as well as numerous body tattoos, dark under eye circles, age lines and funky teeth.
“In real life, I’m so feminine. I’m so girly. I love my makeup, I love my jewellery and all that,” the actor said, adding that she now wears different wigs to mix up her look during filming.
Although Francesca looks better with her head shaved than we ever could, seeing the side-by-side transformation is a testament to the power of makeup because they look like two entirely different people.
