Sarah Jessica Parker's Golden Globes look was a "subconscious" nod to Princess Leia.

When Sarah Jessica Parker stepped onto the red carpet at the 74th Annual Golden Globes, there was something incredibly familiar about her look.

Wearing crown braids and jewels in her hair, as well as a full-length white gown, it took only moments for one of the red carpet hosts to ask whether her resemblance to one of Hollywood’s late icons was intentional.

Natalie Morales, reporting for NBC, said during her interview with the 51-year-old, “It almost looks Princess Leia inspired!”

Indeed, the audience at home were thinking the same thing.

Surprisingly, the likeness to Carrie Fisher’s most well-known character wasn’t purposeful.

Parker responded, “I didn’t mean for that, perhaps it was in my subconscious.”

Instead, she said her hair style was inspired by her mother’s wedding day.

“Actually there’s a photograph of my mother getting married, and her hair is like this, so I mentioned it in conversation with Serge Normant who does my hair,” she explained.

“And though we didn’t think we were going to do this, this ended up being what we did! So perhaps it’s a tiny little nod at a very grand person.”

Carrie Fisher passed away age 60 on December 27, after suffering a medical emergency on board a plane just days earlier.

She was tragically followed by her mother, 84-year-old Debbie Reynolds, one day later.
