Sam Wood has finally explained what was going on with Snez's Cheezel ring.

Once upon a time, in a reality TV land far far away, a prince presented his princess with a “promise ring” on live national television.

There was only one problem. (Apart from the whole “on live national television” part).

Quickly dubbed “The Cheezel Ring”, Sam’s jewelry choice was torn apart on social media (although, in his defence, Snez seemed pretty happy with it).

Today, speaking to Nova 100’s Chrissie, Sam and Browny, Sam Wood has finally weighed in on Ringgate (and the $50,000 engagement ring he purchased as The Cheezel’s replacement).

“I copped a fair bit of flak for the ring that I gave her on the show,” he said.

“It got called the Cheezel. There were a few comments on social media when I gave her the engagement ring saying, ‘Oh thank god, she now gets to take off the Cheezel.'”

“I think we’ve got it right,” he says of the new ring.
