Well, that almost went very, very wrong.
Studio Ten’s Sarah Harris was hosting a segment this morning with famous ‘mindreader’ Anthony Laye. The trick involved four nail guns – one of which was loaded – and Harris had to shoot them into Laye’s body.
Now, with these tricks, you know the magician/mindreader/tricky person is never going to actually get hit with the loaded nail gun.
What Anthony Laye wasn’t counting on though, was Sarah Harris not knowing which direction to point the dangerous power tool.
He was blindfolded, and she picked it up and aimed it straight at her own face. Jessica Rowe started screaming and had to run in and grab it off her just as she was about to pull the trigger.
It’s intense.
The moment of truth takes place at about 4:20.
Jessica Rowe: Hero.

The thing I like best about this is that it was a woman who recognised the potential issue and stopped it.
Nail guns won't fire unless there is pressure applied to their contact tip, so no real risk.
unless you doctor them so you can shoot nails at the apprentice. or so I've heard.
They also wont fire if they aren't loaded, they have a lockout feature. So the guns have been modified.
not only that, but here finger actually needs to activate the trigger. When holding the gun backwards, her finger was never in any real danger of applying the pressure needed to actually fire the gun.
I use these same guns everyday. There is no way it could have fired as the gun has a lock that prevents the trigger from being depressed until the gun is against a surface witch can't be bypassed as it also triggers the air pump
