This is NSFW, obviously.
You could be forgiven for mistaking singer/songwriter Rachel Lark’s latest film clip for a scene from a particularly gory horror movie.
But this is not a trailer for another Carrie remake.
Far from being distressed by getting blood all over her cute vintage dress, Lark is celebrating something that usually fails to rate a mention in pop music (or polite conversation)…
Period sex.
You can watch the video here, but BEWARE, because you may not want to eat steak for a while afterwards.
Look, I’m cool with having sex while you’re on your period. Honestly, you don’t need more reasons to be grumpy at that time of the month.
I think it’s absurd that people get so grossed out by a problem that can easily be solved with a well placed towel and a shower BUT I’m not going to make a bloody song and dance about it either.
Some people love it though (obviously, because this video is entirely crowd-funded) and “Warm, Bloody, and Tender” is clearly for those people.
Period Sex People.
People who think, like the chorus of this song will tell you, that “just like steak, pussy tastes better when it’s warm, bloody, and tender.”
I am not one of those people.
I am just gonna stick with the towel thing. #putoutyourtowels

The premise of this song is interesting from a consent perspective.
Putting the sheer foul nature of the topic aside, songs about deceiving people to engage in sex acts without consent are not feminist. They are the opposite.
She is singing a song about deceiving a man to drink her menstrual blood. Would we accept a song about a man pissing in a woman's mouth without prior consent?
Wrong. Wrong and deranged.
