This Jin Dan:

Jin Dan is a Pomeranian who lives with her owner in China.
To prepare for summer, Jin Dan was taken to get a haircut.
Jin Dan did not like the haircut.
He staged a protest. For the next three days, he would only walk around on his hind legs. Take a look:

Jin Dan’s humans thought maybe he was embarrassed by the lack of, um, coverage, so they tried covering him with some clothes:

That didn’t work.
After a few days, poor Jin Dan got so tired standing on his legs that he started resting against a wall:

His owner’s got so concerned with his protest that they took him to the vet, who said he was probably going through some psychological trauma from hating his haircut.
We’ve all been there.
A few days later, Jin Dan was back to his old self, but not before his owners plastered the internet with photos of his episode, effectively embarrassing him all over again.
Poor Jin Dan. Can’t catch a break.
Niether can these pets, who have all been humiliated by their owners:

My life-long experience with animals (cats mainly) has taught me a few things about their behaviour & sensitivities and it actually doesn't surprise me if this little guy is deeply offended by his "haircut".
I've noticed that if we find the way our cats are sitting (for eg.) to be cute & funny and we laugh - they seem to register it and move to some other position.
We try not to anthropomorphise them but there's no doubt that once they tune into you, it's pretty clear that they're sad, happy, annoyed, offended, anxious, frightened, pleading, affectionate, grateful - in fact a whole gamut of emotions.
Not funny. Cruel.
