Ah, the miracle of birth.
The incredible moment you create a life. The incredible moment you push a tiny human out of your vagina.
The incredible moment a student doctor pauses to take a selfie with your naked, unassuming body and post it on the internet.
Way to ruin the moment, Dr Stoopid.
Daniel Sanchez, a student obstetrician in Venezuela, outraged the internet when he posted an Instagram photo of himself with a women in labour. Well, with her bottom half. He thoughtfully left her face out of it.
The photo was captioned, “Lady I can deliver your baby but first let me take a selfie.” He later added that he can “bring kids into the world and reconstruct pussies”, and stitch women’s vaginas like a “brand new, like a car with zero kilometres on the clock”.
RUN, LADY. Get off that table and RUN to better doctors.
At least 5,000 people have signed an online petition demanding the hospital investigate the incident and take action, to “establish a precedent from which the new generations of professionals exercise their profession in the most absolute respect for the birthing women and their families, and their profession.”
Yep. That. Do that, hospital.

This kind of thing hopefully wouldn't happen in Australia. The Australian Medical Association classes photographs to be health information and should only be taken with consent, and should also be treated under the same privacy and confidentiality rules as any other medical information.
So awful.
