The photo shows a boy who’s just been fatally struck in the head. So why are people sharing it online?
On Saturday, a nine-year-old boy was fatally hit by an adult player’s bat during an amateur baseball game in Liberal, Kansas.
Freckled, bespectacled bat boy Kaiser Carlile was running to retrieve a bat during the National Baseball Congress World Series game when he strayed too close to the on-deck circle. That’s when a player’s practice swing accidentally struck him in the head — knocking him out cold, according to The Wichita Eagle.

I just used the link you so kindly added to this post to view 'the photo'. It is a lovely pic of a child being held close and given comfort by someone who obviously cares. If it had been my child struck this is exactly what I would like to think would happen. Some simple human kindness , You gave such graphic details in your post and I saw none of it.... eg ( no speck of blood in the little boys hair) were you using a magnifying glass ? You have taken something good and made it seem somehow sordid. I think that this exact photo will give little Kaisers parents some small comfort.... He was cradled in the arms of someone who cared at a time he needed it the most....
Very sad! Can I also point out... isn't it slightly inappropriate/weird to name a little league team the 'Liberal Bee Jays'. Surely Americans's know what a BJ is over there? Awks.
