Happy parents and tiny new baby yesterday[source]
Jamie Oliver and his wife Jools have added a new flower daughter to their garden family.
Petal Blossom Rainbow was born in London on Saturday, weighing about 3kg, joining sisters Poppy Honey, 7, and Daisy Boo, 5.
Yes, I know.
Look. It's always a beautiful thing when a baby is born. A thing to be celebrated. And I'm actually running out of steam on the well-worn subject of Silly Celebrity Baby Names. Today, I'm having one of my 'Who-cares-what-the-baby-is-called-at-least-it-doesn't-live-in-an-orphanage-in-Malawi" moments.
Also, every time this subject comes up, at least one person will point out that my own children do not have particularly conventional names. Pot kettle black etc.
So on the subject of the Oliver family, I will simply make the following mild observation: I wonder if they are getting the idea of nicknames mixed up with actual names? But you know what? Who cares. These kids are obviously well loved and much wanted (Jools has been public about her struggles with infertility caused by polycystic ovarian syndrome). Congratulations to the whole flower bed, I say.
Jamie, Jools, Daisy Boo and Poppy Honey…..
(as an aside: a girlfriend with a daughter called Lily had another
little girl the same day as Jools and called her Poppy. The text I received announcing the birth was slightly
sheepish: "We are not intentionally trying to be all Jamie Oliver….")

Cute, cute, cute! Ok, Boo, Honey and Rainbow are a bit odd, but middle names are hardly ever used (unless I'm in trouble with my parents!)
i love their names so sweet and gorgeous for little girls. when you think about what they will be as adults its not so bad i wouldnt mind being called petal blossom or something equally gorgeous. Bless x
