Oprah Winfrey is returning to TV, people. This is not a drill.

After almost a year of anticipation, HBO has just dropped the first trailer for its upcoming adaption of The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks and holy Oprah it looks incredible. And not least of all because it actually stars Oprah.

The series is an adaptation of the 2010 nonfiction book of the same name, written by Rebecca Skloot, which chronicles the little-known life of a black woman named Henrietta Lacks.

Skloot is set to be played by Rose Byrne, while Oprah will be playing Lacks’ daughter, Deborah.

Following her death in 1951 from cervical cancer, 31-year-old Lacks’ cells were used in medical research. Incredibly, her cell line was the first human tissue able to replicate outside of the human body, and ultimately, it was because of this that crucial medical advancements like the polio vaccine, chemotherapy treatments and AIDS drugs were able to be developed.

For many years, however, Lacks' family did not know her cell line was being used.

"For years it seemed like a dream," Oprah tells Byrne in the trailer. "About our mother, could this be true? What you don't understand is, we didn't know nothin' about nothin'."

Listen: Oprah really disappeared for a while, but now, she's finally back in our lives. Post continues...

Set to air on April 22, the HBO adaptation will track Skloot and Deborah's discovery of Henrietta's life and the legacy she left behind.

And while we've only got a short trailer to go off of right now, it's definitely looking award-worthy.
