The family of a female Iranian asylum seeker, who was allegedly raped three months ago in Nauru, say the Federal Government has refused to allow her to be treated in Australia.
In May, 23-year-old Nazanin Bagheri left the Nauru detention centre to visit friends on the island.
She was raped as she made her way back to the family camp.
Ms Bagheri’s brother Omid said following the attack, staff from medical provider, IHMS, informed the family his deeply traumatised sister would be sent to Australia for treatment.

Of course there was no transfer for the entire family, at least one of them has had a negative finding against them, Nazanin hasn't and is free to come and go, as are members of other family's who have a parent or sibling with a negative finding against them, these family members are not required to stay but choose too. Her family members haven't been denied visitation while she is cared for by IHMS, there is no counseling provided here that can't be provided there and surely separating her from her family would be detrimental, unless this attack was motivated by revenge.
Mojgan was dragged by her hair from her Brisbane community and transported to Darwin last Friday. She's 21, married to an Australian resident, and being threatened with deportation to Iran. She is a victim of sexual abuse and violence. Her husband is distraught. Please cover this too.

Thank you for bringing attention to mojgan. Her situation is terrible. I agree - please cover her story Mamamia. She spoke with the ABC and then only a few days later was taken into detention in Darwin. Very questionable circumstances. Her story needs to be shared.
