Three members of a NSW family were killed in a car crash on Sunday.
And while there’s no question the incident ended in a devastating loss of life — 42-year-old Daniel Milne, wife 39-year-old Susana Milne and their 11-year-old son Liam died at the scene — what’s less clear is whether it was an accident or not.
As the Daily Mail reports, police are currently investigating the possibility that the tragic car crash that claimed the lives of a young family, was a deliberate suicide attempt.
The car was believed to be travelling between 90 and 100 km per hour along Enterprise Drive in Berkeley Vale on the NSW coast when it veered off the road.
The Milne’s seven-year-old son — now an orphan — was taken to hospital after the crash , where he underwent surgery and is now reportedly in a stable condition.
It is also alleged that Susana Milne was pregnant with the couple’s third child.
Channel Nine reported that Milne, 42, may have deliberately failed to brake before the car hit the tree.
According to the Daily Mail, police have seized a computer and documents from the Milne’s house.
“We would be neglectful if we didn’t search the house or look for a suicide note,” Tuggerah Lakes duty officer, Inspector Colin Lott said.
“We have to tick all the boxes. Part of the investigation is to eliminate all possibilities.”
Investigations are ongoing.

I hope they have good reason to publicly put it out there that this may have been a suicide. Otherwise, it slurs the name of a victim of a tragic accident.
