A heartbreaking tragedy has left one sister dead and a family suffering the kind of grief most of us could never imagine.
15-year-old Marli Hamblin, the third of five children – and just about to start high school in the US was sunbaking on her driveway last Friday afternoon.
It was the week before school returned from their long holidays and she was listening to her iPod and enjoying the summer sun.
Her older sister backed the family Chevy truck out of the garage and did not see Marli lying in her path.
The truck drove over Marli leaving her with a critical head injury.
“It’s not an easy case for everybody involved–the officers, firemen, the paramedics, “Syracuse Police Officer Erin Behm told KUTV. “You can imagine, it was tragic.”
Marli was rushed to hospital where she was placed on life support.
A fundraiser was set up and a Facebook page established as the family prayed and hoped for a miracle to save her.
Tragically on Sunday her family announced that she had died.
“Our precious Marli is home with her heavenly father. Please continue prayers of comfort for this family during this time,“it was written on the Miracle for Marli page.
Marli was one of five children and had just begun cheerleading.
Police say that her older sister will not be charged. Our thoughts are with them at this terrible time.

I hope the sister who ran her over will have counseling. This will be a life-long struggle for her to cope with.

Who still sun bakes?
