A teenage student in the US has told police he was not a rapist he was re-enacting the movie “Fifty Shades of Grey.”

A college student charged with rape in the US claims he was just re-enacting a scene from Fifty Shades of Grey with a fellow student.
The alleged rapist, 19-year old Mohammad Hossain is accused of tying up his victim, whipping and punching her before raping her in his room at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
The Chicago Tribune reports that in court prosecutors said Hossain and the 19-year old woman with whom he had “previously been intimate” but was not dating were in his room on Saturday evening Hossain allegedly asked the woman to remove her clothing which she did, keeping on her bra and underwear.
According to the Prosecutor Hossain bound her hands above her head and to a bed with a belt, used another belt to bind her legs and stuffed a necktie into her mouth.
The Assistant State’s Attorney Sarah Karr said that he used a knit cap to cover the 19-year old woman’s eyes and removed the woman’s bra and underwear.
From The Chicago Tribune:
“He then began striking the woman with a belt. After hitting her several times, the woman told Hossain he was hurting her, told him to stop “and began shaking her head and crying,” said Karr.
Hossain continued striking the woman — including with his fists, according to an arrest report — and she managed to get one arm, and then another, free. But he then held her arms behind her back and sexually assaulted her as she continued to plead for him to stop.”
The woman reported the assault soon after she left the room.

all these poor young women thinking this is 'cool' sex. What happens when this gets boring and we have to go to the next level.... we are all deluded and this movie does our girls no favours. As a mother of an 11 year old I despair at what she says, indicating what she thinks she needs to be as a grown up. Agree with Luren. Don't be surprised when this gets 'acted out' its a fad, like public sex, like the bikini photos with a bridge, like having no public hair, like 'anal' sex being 'normal' etc etc etc. Does anyone know what normal relationships and normal sex is any more?
What this young man has done is revolting and he deserves to be punished accordingly. However I need to say that some of us could see this coming. The BDSM community has said repeatedly that there are serious issues with this story. I have only read the book but in it Christian stalks Anna, he controls what she can eat, he makes her exercise, he follows her around the country, he sells her possessions without her consent and he has sex with her while she is saying no. Yes he gave her a safe word during the belt scene, but how you can listen to someone cry like that and assume they are having fun is beyond me. All of this is portrayed as sexy, romantic and desirable.
Saying that there is far worse violence in other films is a mute point. Schindler's List does not sexualise the Holocaust and The Purge does not make murder look desirable. Fifty Shades of Grey is filth (I am sorry to use such a strong word, but I am a little angry) and if that is your thing, fine, but please don't be surprised when deeply disturbed young people start acting it out as if it is socially acceptable behaviour. I wonder how many young girls out there are already looking for a very troubled, but beautiful young man that they can 'fix'. That'll end well won't it.
