By BARRIE CASSIDY.
In both the case of Bronwyn Bishop and of Adam Goodes our passions have been aroused, and in both cases the likely outcomes are so wrong. How is it that Bishop could stay in her job while Goodes may not, asks Barrie Cassidy.
What does it say about the country if this weekend Bronwyn Bishop is still in her job and Adam Goodes is not?
If Bishop – despite overwhelming public opinion wishing it otherwise – refuses to quit; and Goodes – despite, surely, overwhelming public opinion wishing it otherwise – simply can’t face the prospect of running on to a football field?
In both cases passions have been aroused in tandem this week, and in both cases the likely outcomes are so wrong in so many ways.
The Abbott Government’s handling of the Bishop scandal is about as inept as you could possibly imagine. It is breathtaking in its dumbness.

Thank goodness, finally our PM has does good and taken a positive stand on the issue (Adam Goodes that is). And for those who saw nothing wrong in the so -called booing (including dimwitted media commentators - Eddie Everywhere & so forth), that blamed (& condemned Adam Goodes, for simply doing something culturally appropriate - they SHOULD take a long hard look at themselves. As someone who grew up going to school being referred to as a wog (being 50% Italian heritage - and not blue-eyed & fair-skinned) - even though I was born in Australia - I know what it's like to be demeaned, treated as an outcast and called names, by WASP *ickheads (& 12 yr old ones at that.) I think to-date, much of Australia has been in denial about their laid back "relaxed and comfortable" form or brand of racism that they routinely demonstrate.
Good article, might go right over some heads though.
