The Indonesian attorney-general has revealed that plans to execute two Australians may be on hold until a Nigerian drug smuggler has his clemency bid rejected.
Attorney-general Muhammad Prasetyo indicated he was holding off on announcing the next round of executions so Nigerian Silvester Obiekwe could be included.
Obiekwe is reportedly running a drug smuggling ring from an Indonesian prison and it is understood the country’s anti-narcotics agency wants him put to death as soon as possible.
Mr Prasetyo indicated he was waiting for the president to reject Obiekwe’s clemency bid so that he could be executed in the next round.
President Joko Widodo has said he would not grant clemency but he has not yet formally rejected the bid.

Mr Prasetyo indicated Australians Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran were to be scheduled for execution in the next group.
