The most sexually satisfied cities in the world have been named and we have bad news.

When was the last time you had sex? Was it recently? Did you enjoy it? Are you having sex regularly and is sex enjoyable to you?

These are just some of the questions 450,000 people aged between 18 to 70 faced recently when taking part one of the largest global sexual studies ever undertaken in a bid to learn not only the most sexually active city in the world but also the most sexually satisfied city in the world and the most LGBTQ-friendly city in the world.

And while Australia didn’t fare well, we didn’t exactly fare terribly either.

According to the research, which was conducted by Lazeeva, the most sexually satisfied city in the world is... Antwerp, in Belgium. Sure, okay. Why not?

Next up was Warsaw, followed by Brussels, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht, Ghent, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and finally, Los Angeles.

When it came to ranking the sex-positive city in the world, it was discovered that the city of love, Paris, took out the top spot.

Rio de Janeiro came in at second place and was followed by London, Los Angeles, Berlin, New York City, Sao Paulo, Las Vegas, Ibiza Town and Amsterdam. And sure, on one hand, it seems weird that neither Sydney or Melbourne is on that list, but you know what's even weirder? People described Ibiza as a sex-positive place....

Incredibly, one Australian city did make it onto one of the better lists, with Melbourne ranking as the ninth most LGBTQ-friendly city in the world. London took out the number one slot and was followed by Toronto, Berlin, Paris, Madrid, Montreal, Rio de Janeiro, Stockholm and San Francisco.

But before you go getting too excited about our top 10 spot, know this. When it came to ranking the top 10 least sexually satisfied cities in the world, we also got a look in.

Yep, according to Lazeeva's data, Perth is the seventh most sexually unsatisfied city in the world.

And sure, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Tokyo, Cork and Hong Kong beat us, but still, it's not a great feeling, is it?
