The Bachelor's Tiffany announces she's leaving her "love" Megan in an emotional Instagram post.

Australia fell in love with a couple after this year’s season of The Bachelor aired – it just wasn’t the one we expected.

The unlikely romance that blossomed between contestants Megan Marx and Tiffany Scanlon captivated fans everywhere, but its future is now uncertain.

After Tiffany, 29, moved to Megan’s hometown of Geraldton in mid-August, the training administrator has announced she is moving back to live in Perth. This makes the commute between the affectionate pair approximately four hours.

The decision to move home was announced on Tiffany’s Instagram account. Posting a photo of the pair hugging, she wrote: “My time in Geraldton may have come to an end now but my love for this one never will. On to the next adventure.”

In response, 27-year-old Megan wrote, "this sucks" and "I want you back".

The health promotions officer shared the same photo on her own account, captioning it: "[This is] me refusing to let go."

While the duo has never confirmed their romantic relationship to the media, speculation that they are more than platonic friends has been rife for months. A string of nude photos together, in combination with some telling interviews and loved-up social media tributes, fanned flames they are an item.

When asked by OK! Magazine what she and Tiffany were, Megan responded:

“I think you can probably tell from the pictures that have been posted that we don’t have the most conventional relationship.

“I think that when it comes to attraction, for me, it’s usually a connection of minds and humour before anything else and I’m traditionally attracted to men but I don’t rule anything out ... I would say Tiff’s in the same boat.”

While we may never know what the deal is with Megan and Tiffany, we sure hope this isn't the last we hear from them.
