Have you ever heard Kate Middleton speak? Now you can. Thanks to this children’s mental health public service announcement.
Today we realised something – we’ve seen countless pictures and footage of the Duchess of Cambridge, but we rarely actually hear her speak. That’s about to change, as the Duchess puts her voice behind a very important cause.
Kate Middleton is campaigning for better mental health support for children, and she’s done it via YouTube address.
All of this means that, yes, you hear her (lovely and toney British) voice AND witness her getting passionate about a topic that’s close to her heart. Today is a good day.
The Duchess has been royal patron of the charity Place2Be (which helps to provide emotional support to children in schools) since 2013.

In her address, set in a classroom at Bethlem and Maudsley Hospital School in Beckenham, south London, Kate speaks about why addressing the mental health issues facing children is so important:
‘Through Place2Be I have seen the benefits of offering children support for their mental health in the safety of the school environment. Both William and I sincerely believe that early action can prevent problems in childhood from turning into larger ones later in life.’
