When it comes to pregnancies on social media, everyone’s an expert.
Criticisms and assumptions flow as freely beneath Instagram posts as likes and love hearts. And, if a mum-to-be is seen to be doing something supposedly ‘wrong’, well… the entire internet, it feels like, is willing to let her know.
In some cases, it’s helpful. In others, it’s just plain nasty. But now, pregnant reality TV star Khloe Kardashian (who is likely no stranger to social media trolls) has experienced the ‘wrath of the mummy bloggers’ first-hand.
The 33-year-old, who is six months pregnant with basketball star Tristan Thompson, has become somewhat of an advocate for healthy living, posting regularly about her gym routines and diet. And being pregnant has of course not meant grinding her entire lifestyle to a halt.
But since announcing her pregnancy last week, it seems she's been copping criticism for continuing to exercise. And Khloe is confronting the haters head-on.
"For the ones who think they are physicians all of a sudden," she posted to Twitter. "My doctor and I communicate and my workouts are cleared and highly recommended."
LISTEN: Celebrity PhD Anne Helen Petersen, on what makes a 'cute' pregnancy. Post continues after.
The first-time mum-to-be also threatened to "stop sharing sh*t" (which is highly unlikely but also fair) and linked to an article about the benefits of exercising during pregnancy.
For the ones who think they are physicians all of a sudden ????????♀️ but MY doctor and I communicate and my workouts are cleared and highly recommended. Thanks kiddos! Don't make me stop sharing shit https://t.co/7raJUgmcBA

People really need to stop giving other people advice. Unless someone asks you. Keep it to yourself.
That's good advice
A good way to avoid unsolicited advice is to keep yourself off social media and not live your life in public, pretty much inviting comment, judgement and opinions by doing so.
People really have no idea. I got the same response from men and women because I exercised right up to the day I went into labour. It's amazing how everyone becomes an expert on what's right for someone else. And because I exercised I didn't have excessive weight gain and bounced back very quickly after having my baby - Bonus. She is on the money with this one.
